Clinical evaluation

Psychiatric Consultation

For when talking things through hasn't moved the needle, or you're wondering whether medication should be part of the picture. A licensed psychiatrist looks at what's actually going on and walks you through real options.

Who books this

Usually it's someone who's already tried therapy and hit a wall, or someone dealing with symptoms that feel more physical than situational — sleep that won't normalize, anxiety that doesn't respond to talking it through, mood that's stayed low longer than it should. This isn't instead of therapy, either. Plenty of clients do both at once.

What the appointment covers

The first consultation is a real evaluation — your history, current symptoms, what you've already tried and how it went. From there your psychiatrist lays out the actual options, medication among them, and what to expect realistically if you go that route. If something is prescribed, follow-ups track how it's working and adjust from there.

What to expect

A full evaluation before anything gets prescribed
Plain language, not a list of drug names and side effects
Regular check-ins if you start a medication
Coordination with your therapist, if you already have one
